Notes: Monterey Seabirds
trip aboard 'Pt Sur Clipper' with R. Ternullo, skipper; Roger
Wolfe, Dan Singer, Todd Easterla, D. Roberson leaders; others
aboard included a Sac Audubon trip with Dan Brown and others,
and an Eagle Eye tour led by Richard Knapton. Exceptionally calm
and lovely day; Beaufort 0-1 all day; patchy overcast but mostly
sun. This checklist is offshore only (>1 mi offshore). Route was
to Pt. Pinos, WSW to 22 nmi W of Cypress Pt, then SE to ~10 west
of Walnut Canyon, N paralleling coast 10 mi off to a point NW
of Pt. Pinos, and return to Monterey harbor. Mammals included
2 Blue Whale, sev Humpbacks, huge pod of 1000+ White-sided & N
Rightwhale Dolphins.
